Home and homelessness - virtually no other theme has moved, inspired and influenced composers of all generations so profoundly, not least because of the cruel fate suffered by many musicians. The MusikTriennale Köln 2010, one of Germany’s biggest festivals of contemporary music now being staged for the sixth time, sets out to explore the concrete, metaphorical, historical, contemporary, national and international aspects of the home - homeless dichotomy.
